Craftsmanship has always accompanied our daily work, made of repeated gestures, attention to materials and continuity over time. For this reason, we are pleased to be part of Roma su Misura. Craft Shopping Guide, a project that highlights workshops and ateliers where craftsmanship is still a living practice.

Roma su Misura is a bilingual Italian and English publication published by Gruppo Editoriale and developed in collaboration with Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte. The guide brings together selected artisan workshops, offering the possibility to experience craftsmanship not only as cultural heritage, but also as a form of conscious shopping rooted in quality and authenticity.

Our work has always grown quietly inside the workshop, through consistency and attention to detail rather than visibility. Being included in a project that focuses on places where craftsmanship is practiced every day reflects the way we have always worked.

The official presentation of Roma su Misura took place on Friday, December 19, at the Auditorium Ara Pacis in Rome. The event brought together artisans and entrepreneurs in a setting closely connected to the city’s history, offering an opportunity for exchange and dialogue around craftsmanship today.

This inclusion represents another step along a path that began in the 1950s and continues today in our leather workshop in Rome, where craftsmanship remains a daily practice shaped by time, materials and hands.

The world of art and fashion have always had a very close bond, drawing inspiration from each other. Recently, we exploited this creative synergy by choosing the MAXXI museum in Rome as the location for the latest photo shoot of our leather bags. The MAXXI, short for National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome, is renowned for its contemporary art and architecture. MAXXI’s avant-garde approach perfectly matched the style of the leather bag, giving life to a photo shoot that highlighted the union between form and function.

The first national architecture museum in Italy: MAXXI museum in Rome

Thinking of Rome, images of classical art, ancient monuments, sculptures and Renaissance paintings come to mind. The Eternal City is all this but also much more. In the very elegant Flaminio area of the city, for over ten years, a true contemporary jewel has stood in contrast with the usual architectural panorama of Rome: the MAXXI museum in Rome. Inaugurated to the public in 2010, the MAXXI represented a real innovation compared to the other museums of the city. Designed by architect Zaha Hadid, the museum is both an example of contemporary architecture and a work of art itself. Its flowing lines and bold use of concrete and glass invite visitors to question their concept of space and design.

Gravity, Imagining the Universe after Einstein

In 1917 Albert Einstein published a scientific article that revolutionized the models of the cosmos and universe imagined up to that point by scientists of the time. In 2017, one hundred years after its publication, MAXXI museum in Rome dedicated the exhibition “Gravity. Imaging the Universe after Einstein”. Even today, the exhibition is considered one of the most famous and successful in the museum. The project was the result of a collaboration between the museum and the Italian Space Agency and the National Institute of Nuclear Physics for the scientific part and with the Argentine artist Tomás Saraceno for the artistic part.

Rome is one of the most iconic cities in the world, and its historic center is full of stunning sights and experiences thanks to its culture, fashion and history. One of the most historic streets of Rome is Via dei Coronari, where our leather goods shop in Rome is located.

A Historic Street

This famous street, located in the heart of the city’s historic center, is a must-visit for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the Italian capital’s unique blend of tradition and contemporary style. In ancient times, the street was very popular with pilgrims and, consequently, by the sellers of “corone“ (meaning a “crown” or “wreath”, which give the street its name “coronari”) and sacred images, who established their shops here.

In more recent times, starting from the twentieth century, Via dei Coronari was home to a thriving antiques trade, with shops and galleries selling everything from ancient artifacts to Baroque furniture. The street was a hub of activity, with visitors from around the world flocking to the area to browse and purchase rare and unique items.
